Good thing training camp doesn’t matter for Favre like the experts said it didn’t

Safe to say the Vikings offense looked like shit. The calls were confused, the blitz pickups were nonexistent, the receivers couldn’t figure it out and Brett Favre sure as hell wasn’t on the same page… with anybody. He looked like he may have been on a page in another book somewhere in Hattiesburg. He was throwing off his back foot, throwing to spots where there were no wide receivers and seemingly trying to hit the roof with some of those passes. The only guy that didn’t suck was Adrian Peterson, but he’s just one fumble away from solidifying an offensive (pun intended, 100%) performance reminiscent of the Bears under John Shoop (shivers). Favre looked unprepared, overwhelmed and out of sync.

It looked almost as if Favre missed all of training camp, most practices thereafter and hardly got on the field in the pre season, but that would just be ridiculous… oh wait, nevermind. Can we be done with the line of thinking that says Favre doesn’t need training camp? When you play on the same team with the same guys for 10 years, maybe, but not with this team and not when you’re close to getting a discount at the movie theatre. Bernard Berrian runs a route like a wounded dog and Percy Harvin spent his training camp in a dark room with a cold wash cloth on his forehead. It takes time for a QB to build a rapport with his wide receivers, just ask Jay Cutler (insert aggressive and over protective comment here). Simpler said – Favre didn’t know where they were going to be, and they didn’t know where Favre wanted them to be. It probably doesn’t help that Favre most likely gets to the line, says “fuck it” and does whatever the hell he wants. Whatever, you pompous bastard, I hope your time on the ranch was relaxing because it looks like you’re in for a long season. 5 of the Vikings’ next 7 games are against playoff teams so, as a Bears fan, this will be fun to watch.

9 points. Wow. They need to give the ball to AP “all day”. I don’t see why you need to be “gun slinging” in a game where you’re leading for some of it and not more than a T.D. away for the rest. The Vikings have (arguably) the best running back in the game and a backup who can punish defenders as well. He should be dumping it to the TE and handing off for most of the game. This would open things up in his deep game if Favre wouldn’t try to use and abuse his ability to throw the shit out of a football. Who Dat!?!

Yea they abandoned the running game later and I’m not sure why. He did throw to Shiancoe (his TE) often but it didnt help because nobody else was on the same page. Even if there was a read to make it wasn’t being done. I just hope, as a Bears fan, they cant get this figured out… but I’d bargain to say Brett is too good to let that happen

hey found you on reddit, congrats on 2 highly successful posts in a row. Your right about espn, they know what they’re talking about just about as frequently as your typical sports fan does.

Thanks, yea I feel like I kind of struck gold (interest, not money) when I started this website. My main site (http://retortnation.com) gets a good deal of attention, but I didnt expect my sports thoughts would be so volatile. Im very happy with the site so far and hope to keep it going. Of my first 5 articles on this site, 4 have made the reddit front page, and this one is still there today. Very grateful for the interest and comments. Stick around, I’ll have more to come – I’m a football junkie so I’m sure I’ll have some more to say throughout the season.
      Thanks again!

Not so much fun for this Bears fan to watch, my fellow exile in Cheeseland. Any failures by the Vikings will only make things that much easier for the damned Packers to take the division. I’m sorry but as much as I hate Favre and the Vi-Queens, I hate the Packers that much more.

damn, thats pretty awesome, I tried posting some stuff their too, my last post Id get like 50 hits a few upvotes and a few comments in 20 minutes, then it would dissapear completely off reddit, off the front page of sports, off the upcoming sports. Then id repost and same the same shit would happen, pretty fucking annoying. Do you use any other site to help get you stuff out?

Every post usually goes to my Facebook fan page, Twitter, Reddit, Stumbleupon and Digg. When it gets attention on Reddit though, no traffic compares. It’s ridiculous.
